This policy relates to the privacy of your information at Cairo Bank Uganda including the website, our internet Banking, our mobile banking application, online advertisements and all social media channels.
We are committed to keeping your information private and secure including any information about you or information that third parties provide to us.
We are committed to protecting your personal data. We’ll use your information for a number of different purposes, for example to provide our services to you and others and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations
Information we collect
If you register to use our secure services, such as online banking, we’ll ask you to provide some information about yourself for security, identification and verification purposes.
In situations where information is provided about other people like joints accounts you must ensure that you have the consent of all the parties involved
Cairo Bank Uganda will only disclose your information under the following circumstances
- If you consent that the bank discloses the information
- If the by law Cairo bank Uganda is required to disclose the information
- If the bank has a public duty for the information to be disclosed
Your information will not be disclosed to third parties unless you gave us your consent or if it is required by law, or for the conclusion or performance of our agreement with you.

Customers can speak to our Customer Service Support on telephone hotline: +256 417 230 200.
All complaints will be investigated and concerns addressed in line with our Customer Service Charter.
Cairo Bank Uganda Limited as a supervised Financial Institution is a member of the Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda.
The bank’s customer deposits are protected by the Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda to the tune of UGX 10,000,000 (Ten Million Shillings Only).

The bank subscribes to the Uganda Bankers Code of Conduct and the internal Code of Conduct. Employees, persons and entities dealing with the bank commit to upholding the banks values and expected code of conduct.
- For Ugandans – Scan or photograph your National ID, back and front and send to the bank.
- For foreigners / non-Ugandans – Scan or photograph your bio-data page of your valid passport and send to the bank.
- For Refugees – Scan or photograph your Refugee ID and send to the bank.
All customers should over and above their identification, also provide alternative banking accounts or mobile money numbers.
